Where did the last month go?

Seems like it was just yesterday we were arriving home from Aruba all sunburnt and giddy. Alas, we are home, but we hit the ground running, literally- and haven't slowed down much since. Right after we returned we had the chance to see Irving Roth lecture. He is a holocaust survivor with an amazingly inspiring message of acceptance but also action. He told the story of his youth through being a teenager and his internment in both Buchenwald and Auschwitz camps. Then spoke to action in the sense that not one human being should stand by and watch injustice be committed. It was very moving.

The following weekend Jordan and I participated in the Komen Race for the Cure with my friend Trace and a geocaching buddy Jerri.
Here is a picture of all four of us just before the race.

On Mother's day Cobi and Jordan spoiled me with breakfast in bed and a day of fun family time. We went to see Star Trek and stopped by the nursery where I was treated to two dogwood trees! (They were having a great sale!)
Here I am after we placed one of them into the yard

Within all of these activities we have also attended a few potlucks and parties along the way. This past weekend we went to a memorial party at Trace and Ryan's, attended a BBQ at the Kent's, Jordan's friend Sarah's family and attended a backyard viewing of Strange Brew at Nicki and Chad's house. They set up a projector in the backyard and it was so neat to wrap up in a blanket and sit outside to watch the movie. Reminded us of watching films on the beach in Aruba. :) We also hosted our first couchsurfer, Nickles from South Carolina. Unfortunately we didn't get any photos of him but he was super nice and it was a fun experience we look forward to our next hosting.
Memorial day Cobi cleaned the gutters and I painted the front door. The house is looking quite nice and we only have a few more improvements before our list is fairly complete.

So after a few quiet and not so quiet weeks we're caught up right?!
